INSOMNIA COLLECTION

A series of 12 nocturnal urban and rural activity scenes set against a dormant natural landscape marking the passage of time and man.
I wanted to demonstrate this by depicting the ethereal quality that sleep deprivation can bring and have chosen to adapt the technique of time lapse photography to emphasize the viewers disassociation with the activity within the picture.
The recurring abstract theme of trailing lights and no visible vehicles separates the viewer and the sleeper from reality.
The paintings are in acrylic on boxed canvas.
They are all 60cm x 50cm.
