THE MORNING AFTER

GOOD MORNING BEAUTY
ITS LIKE WE NEVER SLEPT
DRIFTING THROUGH DREAMS UPON
US THE DAYLIGHT CREPT

I KISS BOTH YOUR EYES
WITH NO GUILTY INTENT
I PLACE MY HAND ON YOUR HEART
TO THAT PLACE I NEVER WENT

THE MORNING CAST SUN
SUBMERGES YOUR CARPET
ACROSS OUR STREWN CLOTHES
WHERE LAST NIGHT STARTED

NO PLACE HERE FOR JEALOUSY
OR LOVERS LEAPS
NO EXCUSE OR MEANING
AS WE CLIMB FROM THE SHEETS

NO TALK OF POEMS
FALLING STARS OR SHORES
NO AWKWARD SMILE
AS I CLOSE YOUR BEDROOM DOOR
